2020 South Georgia Film Festival Poster Competition
VALDOSTA – The South Georgia Film Festival is soliciting submissions for its 2020 poster and promotions competition. Submissions are open now until October 21. The top submissions will be put on display at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts Oct. 26 during ARTober Fest where a winner will be announced. The winner of the poster competition will win $100 and a VIP Pass to the 2020 South Georgia Film Festival.
The previous posters designs for the South Georgia Film Festival were created by Talley Mulligan (2018) and Bill Shenton (2019). Their designs were incorporated both as the main poster for the festival as well as a number of other promotional pieces throughout the year. This year’s competition is intended to bring in designs from both professionals and students alike.
During ARTober Fest, the community is invited to help select the winning design. Also helping choose the winner will be Evelyn Davis Walker, Professor of Art at Valdosta State University, and Marcus McConico, President of the SGFF Community Advisor Board.
Over the previous three years of the festival, visiting filmmakers have seen their posters printed by the Valdosta State University New Media Center. Presenting those posters has been a highlight for many visiting filmmakers. This year, participating filmmakers will also be able to win Best Poster along with Best Short, Best Feature, Best High School, and Best College films.
The 2020 South Georgia Film Festival will take place March 6, 7, & 8, 2020 on the campus of Valdosta State University. For more information, please visit SouthGeorgiaFilm.com or contact Prof. Jason Brown at SouthGeorgiaFillm@Valdosta.edu or 229-219-1298.
